Party Like It’s 1773!

Kim and I attended our first protest!  It was pretty exciting, the official turn out was 1,200 at the Seattle Tea Party.  Olympia was the big one for the state at about 5,000.  I was even caught in a picture posted on The Boze Blog.  (Dave Boze is one of my favorite local talk hosts.)

You can’t see much of me, but I’m there.  Kim is to my right and you can see her hair and sunglasses too :)

The organizers were collecting for the Northwest Harvest food pantry.  We thought that was a nice touch.  We can take care of our own much better than the government can.

Cut the pork!

In My Hometown

Another frustrating day at work, doing stuff that should be done by others… I’d better not get started.

Hopefully, I’ll get a chance to head down to Habitat after work. They need some network help, and some computers to inspect.

This is a good article, depressing though. And, if you agree with it, infuriating. Victor is my hero.

In related news, Kim was telling me that she heard about a shooting in Seattle. At the time I wondered why it was remarkable enough for the national news. It seems like some unsavory (to say the least) fellow shot workers at the Jewish Federation offices in Seattle. He kidnapped a 14-year-old girl, killed Pamela Waechter, and wounded 5 others. All alleged of course (to be arraigned on the 10th), but he turned himself in at the scene of the crime. He says it was a political statement. I should mention that he proclaimed his distaste of American foreign policy and demanded we leave Iraq. So an angry Muslim shoots some Jews to make a point, great… I have a lot to say, but my mother reads this.

Anyway, I’m mad. Go read Victor’s article.
